Last week itself Facebook had provided a hint to media about a new launching. It gives rise to rumors that announcement might be a Facebook phone, new mobile features, new IPad app or a search engine. Some reports had assumed Facebook – which owns one billion users are going to launch hardware with a tablet product or Smartphone of its own. Some other reporters had simply supposed that Facebook would impose a charge for sending messages to users, revamp its news feed feature or else introduce a fresh advertising network.

Anyway world has welcomed Zuckerberg’s announcement about launching of ‘Graph Search’- the new search engine of Facebook, with so much of warmth. We heard from him after hot gossips over what would be new in “come see what we’re building” staging. Yes, at company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg uncover the sophisticated service, ‘Graph Search’ on Tuesday Jan 15^th.

This innovative search tool enables Facebook users to search for information that has already shared with them.

What Zuckerberg have to say about new product

Zuckerberg claimed it to be not a simple web search tool. He also said that it is not competing with Google, as it is related to Facebook’s database. According to introducer Zuckerberg, this advanced search box will enable people to type anything they need to look at. For instance, by typing words “My friends who love Harry Potter and star wars”; you can get a list of your friends who like both. He also claimed that advanced tool is privacy-aware.

Zuckerberg stressed that his new product was very different to other web search engines because it only searches data on Facebook. Zuckerberg proudly said, Graph Search is exactly designed to deliver you the answer but not links to answers” However when Graph Search is failed to provide right answer for your search query, it will show you Bing results by default setting.

Graph search and web search, what is the difference?

While web search will give you best possible results for any set of keywords, you can get results for combining phrases using Graph Search (for e.g.: ‘my friends in Washington who like Clinton’).

Now it is pretty easy to find set of people, photos, places or other content which has already been shared through Facebook. As stated by wired.com Mark Zuckerberg portrayed Graph Search as tool having ability to handle more specific queries than a common web search, such as ‘who are my pals who reside in San Francisco.’”

Is it privacy-aware?

Zuckerberg draw attention to the fact that Graph Search will adhere to users current privacy settings. People can only see shared contents. This advanced Search tool will firstly be available only to 10,000 users, however will soon launch openly within few months.

How Mark treats questions

Zuckerberg introduced as the coolest stuff of Facebook products. However the new tool would be moved on wheels a bit slowly, starting just with a beta version opened to limited users. Even though he repetitively emphasized that the new service was totally different from custom web search, he also said that Graph Search would work “integrated” with Bing search engine. When argues raised that it actually target Google, he boldly replied actually he loves to work with Google. Questions instantly arose over will the new tool affect users’ privacy. He replied an opt-out option is included in the new tool.
